Short Courses and Workshops for Drummers

Ever wanted to play the drums? Play already but not sure how to develop your playing? Come and take part in a drum workshop this summer! Two exciting drum kit specific workshops for beginners and for intermediate players, led by Exeter’s Academy of Music & Sound Head Drum Tutor Jay Scott, will be running this summer. Both workshops will be in small groups of no more than six people.

• Learn to play a full drum set and play along to your favourite tunes
• Play beats and fills that you can use in most songs
• Work in a small group and develop your skills

Intermediate Class: Click here for more information

• Aimed at drummers with a few years playing experience who are ready for a challenge!
• Looking at patterns which require greater coordination (i.e. separate foot patterns or using ride line ostinatos)
• Develop technical control to develop speed power and endurance.
• Looking into playing in odd time signatures as well as some four way coordination patterns.

Private tuition/ 1-1 short courses. – These can be arranged to give you 1:1 tuition in the areas you want to look at. This can be anything from foot technique to Latin rhythms, or developing your reading skills to just being able to rock out harder than before!

Song Writing Workshops:
The Laura Dugmore Band have been invited to give a song writing workshop for aspiring songwriters and band members. Our first session will be with Eastbourne College where we will spend an afternoon session working with the students and then perform in their newly built and recently opened performance centre.
